Wrapping up 2023

As we wrap up the year, we're looking back on some of our favorite things from 2023. From our family to yours - we wish you a warm, wonderful, and wildly delicious holiday!

Denver Steak

The Denver Steak is cut from the under blade of the shoulder. These steaks are more tender than other cuts from the chuck primal, with a good amount of marbling and flavor. Cook this steak over high heat on the grill, or sear on the stovetop and roast in the oven to finish.

Contributing to the Recovery of the Golden Paintbrush

Today we're celebrating the golden paintbrush, and its official removal from the federal list of endangered and threatened plants. We played one small part in the propagation of the golden paintbrush as part of the Western SARE project, which established golden paintbrush on native prairie habitat at Colvin Ranch.

Rib Steak vs. Ribeye

In the matchup between rib steak vs. ribeye, there are no losers, only winners - because either way you get a great steak. The rib steak and ribeye are basically the same cut, except that the rib steak includes the bone and the ribeye is boneless.

2023 Oregon Trail Days

The Tenino Oregon Trail Days parade is always a highlight from a full weekend of activities celebrating Tenino's connection to the Oregon Trail. The Colvin Ranch prairie schooner will be in the parade Saturday, July 22 at 10:45 am.
